Shopper Berated a Supermarket Employee with Down Syndrome – She Thought No One Would Defend Him, but She Was Wrong

“Honestly, I’m surprised this place hasn’t had more accidents!”

She spotted Alaric and straightened immediately.

“Finally! Are you the manager?”

“Yes, ma’am. May I know your name?”

“I’m Nora.” She paused before continuing. “Your employee has made a complete mess, and I expect something to be done about it.”

She pointed at Bryan.

“He knocked over all those bottles because he couldn’t manage a simple task. People like him shouldn’t be handling merchandise.”

Bryan stared at the floor.

Alaric listened without interrupting.

Then he asked, “Could you explain exactly what happened?”

“I asked him to get me a bottle. He started fussing with that cart, and suddenly everything came crashing down.”

“Did he ask you to wait?”

Nora blinked.

“Excuse me?”

“Did Bryan ask you to wait while he moved the cart?”

“What’s that got to do with anything?”

“Because I was told you pushed it.”

Her eyes went straight to me.
