“You’re really letting everyone wear those things?”
“I’m not in charge of what adults wear.”
“You could ask them not to.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s embarrassing!”
I looked at him.
“Now, you know how that feels.”
“I’m not in charge.”
He sighed.

“You didn’t, Tyler.”
“What do you want me to say?”
“That you knew I was insecure about my weight, and you made fun of me anyway.”
He looked uncomfortable.

“I didn’t think people would take it seriously.”
“I took it seriously. Shouldn’t that matter?”
He had no answer.
For once, I didn’t rush to fill the silence.
