Woman’s Son Accidentally Facetimed the Last Person His Father Called – Then a Blonde Woman Answered

At first I saw photographs of furniture, paint samples, and a living room with hardwood floors.

Then I saw the address.

It was a rental house 15 minutes from ours.

A message from Rachel read, “I ordered the bed for Noah’s room. Do you still think he’ll want the one by the window?”

Eric had replied, “He loved it. We need to have everything ready before his birthday.”

I scrolled upward.

There were messages about a deposit, a signed lease, and transferring the electric bill.

Then one from Rachel stopped me.

“Only two more weeks until you tell Sarah. I hate pretending we’re not building a home together.”

My fingers went numb.

“How long has this been going on?” I asked.

Eric lowered his head.

“How long have you been with her?”

“Eight months.”

I put the phone down carefully.

He started talking quickly.

“It began when things were difficult between us. We were always tired. We weren’t connecting.”
