Woman’s DIL Vanished After the Wedding – Two Years Later, Her Son Died, and the DIL Returned, Saying, ‘Now I Can Tell You Everything’

“Love, Linda.”

I handed her the letter.

She read it slowly, tears falling onto the paper.

“He told me you never wanted to see me again.”

“I wanted you home. Or at least sitting across from me, telling me you were all right.”

She reached for my hand.

I held it.

After a while, Sophie said there was one more message I needed to see.

Daniel had sent it four months before his death.

She found it on her phone.

“Mom was never in the hospital. I said that because you kept asking about her and I didn’t want you upsetting her again. You left me to explain everything. You don’t get to act like I handled it badly when you put me in that position.”

I read it twice.

Daniel knew exactly what he’d done.

He knew I hadn’t been hospitalized. He knew he’d lied to Sophie, yet he still blamed her for his choices.
