Shopper Berated a Supermarket Employee with Down Syndrome – She Thought No One Would Defend Him, but She Was Wrong

Before I could respond, the woman turned toward me like we were old friends.

“Can you believe they let people like him work here?”

I had to take a second. Genuinely.

I stood there and counted before saying anything, because I wanted to take that woman apart in front of the whole shop.

But I knew how that would go.

I shout, she shouts, and the manager arrives to find two women screaming in aisle four. Meanwhile, the only person who gets in trouble is the employee standing in broken glass.

He’d already apologized.

He’d have apologized again.

So I didn’t give her a scene.

Then she pointed toward the front of the shop.

“Someone needs to get the manager.”

“I’ll get him,” I said.

She smiled at me.

I took Sasha’s hand and headed toward the customer service desk.

A man wearing a manager’s badge was speaking with a cashier.
