My Son and I Secretly Got on My Pilot Husband’s Flight to Surprise Him — Then He Said Something Over the Speakers That Made Us Both Stop Smiling

Everything fascinated him: the overhead compartments, the rows of seats, the flight attendants greeting passengers, and the steady hum of activity as everyone settled in.

I guided him toward our seats near the back of the plane.

We had chosen that location deliberately. We wanted to stay out of sight and give Tyler absolutely no reason to suspect that we were aboard.

Once we were seated, Mason leaned close to me.

“Do you think Dad knows?”

“Not a chance,” I whispered.

He smiled.

“Can I tell the flight attendant?”

“No.”

“What if I tell just one person?”

“Mason.”

He grinned mischievously.

“Okay, okay. Secret mission.”

Then he zipped his lips with two fingers.

I laughed quietly and helped him fasten his seat belt.

For the next several minutes, he looked around excitedly, trying to absorb every detail. He kept glancing toward the front of the aircraft, wondering whether his father was already in the cockpit.
