My Husband Always Covered His Tattoos in Public – Until a Stranger Recognized One in a Store and Said Something That Made Me Burst Into Tears

My knees suddenly felt weak.

Before I understood what was happening, I was sitting on the cold tile floor.

Molly touched my cheek with one wet hand.

“Mommy?”

“I’m okay.”

Brad crouched beside me.

“Hailey.”

I stared at the sunflower.

I had seen that tattoo thousands of times.

Molly had been tracing it only that morning.

Brad had called it ancient history.

“She made that?” I asked.

Brad nodded.

“Why?”

Before either of them could answer, Molly pulled on Brad’s shirt.

“Daddy, I’m still wet.”

For one second, nobody moved.

Then Erin laughed through her tears.

Brad shut his eyes.

“Right. Pants.”

Ten minutes later, Molly came out of the restroom wearing dry clothes while I carried her muddy dress in a plastic bag.

Erin was still waiting.

Brad clearly wanted to leave.

“Hailey does not need the complete museum tour.”

“Hailey absolutely needs the museum tour,” Erin said.
