“So you’d rather take him to court?”
“If that’s what it takes.”
Take it for the repairs.
Vanessa sighed. “Richard never admits he’s wrong. And there’s something about him you should know.”
She leaned closer and told me something that made my jaw drop.
“You’re kidding.”
“I wish I were.”
Suddenly, the furniture truck made a lot more sense.
Richard gets away with everything again.
“Vanessa, didn’t you say Richard’s throwing a party tomorrow?”
“Yes. Why?”
An idea began forming.
“What if we gave him a chance to explain himself in front of all those people?”
Vanessa raised an eyebrow. “What exactly are you suggesting?”
The furniture truck made a lot more sense.
I leaned closer and explained my idea.
“Emma, are you sure?”
“He’s humiliated my family enough. It’s time he took responsibility.”
A slow smile spread across her face. “Then let’s do it.”
“Just one thing,” I added. “I’m not leaving without getting my car repaired.”
