Woman’s DIL Vanished After the Wedding – Two Years Later, Her Son Died, and the DIL Returned, Saying, ‘Now I Can Tell You Everything’

“He was furious. He said if I humiliated him, he’d make sure everyone believed I was the problem.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because he said you’d hate me. He told me you’d never forgive someone who broke his heart.”

I remembered her frightened expression behind the reception hall.

“You kept checking your phone,” I said.

“My friend was supposed to help me leave afterward. Daniel knew. He kept messaging me, warning me not to speak to you.”

“And you kept watching the entrance?”

“I was waiting for my friend. I was afraid Daniel would confront her if he saw her.”

Sophie wiped her eyes.

“When you found me crying, Daniel had just sent another warning. He said if I told you anything, he’d make certain you never wanted to see me again.”

“That’s what you meant by dangerous?”

“I was panicking. I wasn’t afraid he’d physically hurt you. But I knew how angry he could become, and I thought he’d turn you against me.”
