Guess Who? A Vocal Powerhouse Stepped up and the Internet Immediately Split
Before revealing her name, consider the calibre of performers involved in the final’s entertainment program. The event featured artists associated with pop, R&B, rock, and global stadium shows. Any one of those stars would have arrived with an enormous weight of expectation.
The performer at the centre of the next controversy is an Oscar-winning actress, Grammy-winning singer and former reality-show contestant known for an exceptionally powerful voice: Jennifer Hudson.
Before the match, Jennifer stepped forward to perform the American national anthem in an all-white outfit. She was accompanied by a live band, while uniformed participants holding flags added to the ceremonial atmosphere.

She delivered “The Star-Spangled Banner” with passion, theatrical flourishes, and the full force of her famous voice. The video of her anthem performance showed her leaning into the song’s biggest notes rather than offering a restrained or traditional rendition.
It was a performance designed to fill a stadium, and it certainly did not disappear quietly into the pre-match program.
‘Yelling’ or ‘Impressive’? Fans Heard Two Very Different Performances
In a Reddit discussion about the performance, one person declared, “Yelling as always,” while another offered a more mixed assessment, “She did fantastic but [sic] I didn’t like the musical arrangements.”
Someone else defended the performance while acknowledging why it might divide opinion: “Impressive. The arrangement felt a bit musical theatre, which clearly isn’t to everyone’s taste, but I think it was good.”

The disagreement was just as strong on Facebook. An observer commented, “Yeah, wasn’t a good arrangement, and not her best work.” Meanwhile, another was far more blunt, “But she didn’t sing…… she screamed!!! 🤦♀️ ♀️.” Others enthusiastically disagreed, as one supporter gushed, “It was a great interpretation!!!” and a fellow admirer swooned, “It was amazing.”
Whether viewers heard “screaming” or spectacular vocal power depended entirely on which side of the debate they had already chosen.
The final celebrity moment, however, had nothing to do with singing or speeches. It began after Spain’s victory, when the trophy arrived onstage, and two powerful men appeared to have very different ideas about what was supposed to happen next.

The Trophy Had Been Handed over… So, Why Was Donald Trump Still on the Stage?
After Spain secured the World Cup, Donald and Gianni walked onto the stage holding the gold trophy together. In the video footage shared online, the pair approached the celebrating Spanish team and handed the trophy to the captain. They then stepped back, clapping as the players prepared to celebrate their triumph.

At first, everything appeared to be proceeding according to plan. Then Gianni extended an arm toward Donald from behind, seemingly attempting to guide him away from the centre of the stage.
Donald continued speaking with the players. He side-hugged the captain and then moved toward another player standing at the end of the group.

Gianni appeared to wait for an opening before jogging toward him and gesturing to the side, apparently indicating where they were meant to exit. Donald did not seem to notice the first signal.
The FIFA president approached again and said something to him before moving away. After a final round of applause, the two men eventually walked off, leaving Spain’s players to continue cheering, dancing and enjoying their moment.
It lasted only a short time, but the repeated attempts to move the ceremony along were impossible for viewers to miss.

‘He Looked Confused’: The Internet Reacts to the Unscripted Exit
One Instagram commenter declared, “He looked confused!!” Another commented, “This isn’t funny, it’s so sad.” Other viewers described the scene in similarly direct terms: “So awkward 😬,” “They should’ve communicated the game plan in advance,” and “Trump looks pretty lost and confused.”
Still, not everyone viewed the moment negatively, as one supporter opined, “Best President Trump. Americans love him. Haters gonna hate. 😍😮😂.”
Three Huge Names, Three Moments Nobody Could Have Scripted
The game itself provided the official history, with Spain and Argentina contesting the sport’s greatest prize in front of a truly remarkable crowd. Yet the surrounding entertainment produced a parallel event that unfolded almost entirely through reaction clips and comment sections.
Tom Cruise intended to celebrate unity, only for viewers to become fixated on an American saying “football.” Jennifer delivered a performance filled with passion, only for the arrangement and vocal intensity to divide listeners.
Then, as Spain prepared to celebrate, Donald and Gianni supplied one last unscripted moment. The sight of the FIFA president repeatedly trying to direct the president toward the exit was exactly the kind of awkward, blink-and-you-miss-it footage social media loves.
