t first glance, this photograph seems like a perfectly ordinary snapshot of high school life in 1976.
Everything appears to fit the era. The long school hallway is lined with old-fashioned metal lockers. Students walk between classes carrying stacks of books instead of laptops or tablets. The hairstyles, clothing, denim shorts, shoulder bags, and even the slightly faded appearance of the image all seem to transport you straight back to the 1970s
But look carefully.
There is one detail in the photograph that simply could not have been there in 1976.
And once you notice it, it becomes almost impossible to ignore.
The young woman standing beside the lockers is holding several books against her chest. Her outfit would not necessarily look unusual for the decade, and neither would her hairstyle or brown shoulder bag.
However, take a closer look at her wrist.
She appears to be wearing a modern
smartwatch.
That small black rectangular device is the giveaway.
