Son Banned His Mother from His Wedding Because His Bride Was Ashamed of Her – So Mom Sent a Special Delivery to Their Table

“I love you, Mom.”

I replied, “Have a beautiful day.”

That evening, the performer sent me the video I’d requested.

The ballroom glittered beneath chandeliers.

White roses covered the tables.

Daniel sat beside Jessica at the head table.

Then two men wheeled in a six-foot gold-wrapped box with an enormous red bow.

A card on the front read, “With love, from someone who couldn’t attend.”

Jessica clapped.

“Oh, what a wonderful surprise!”

Daniel leaned forward.

The moment he recognized my handwriting, his smile vanished.

The bride was delighted.

My son knew exactly who’d sent the gift.

Jessica pulled the ribbon.

The box sprang open.

Out jumped a clown with an enormous papier-mâché head, a crooked crown, yellow shoes, and a red horn.

He honked twice, scattered confetti, and danced around the newlyweds’ table.

Guests burst into laughter.

Even a waiter bent over, shaking.

Jessica stood rigidly beside her chair.
