We were passing the beverage aisle when she spotted Bryan.
“Mom, look!”
He was pushing a stock cart loaded with boxes.
A customer approached and reached toward the shelves just as Bryan began turning the cart.
“Just one second, please,” Bryan said politely. “I need to get this out of the way safely.”
The customer smiled.
“Of course. Take your time.”
And she waited.
It was such an ordinary exchange that no one else would have noticed it.
But Sasha and I stopped.
Bryan moved the cart, thanked the woman, and continued working.
Then he noticed us.
“Hey!” he called, smiling.
Sasha hurried over to say hello.
Bryan told us that Alaric had reviewed his previous complaints.
Some were misunderstandings, and others didn’t have enough information to justify blaming him.
The store had corrected his record, and Alaric had begun checking in with him regularly.
“He’s teaching me how to train new employees, too,” Bryan said proudly.
