Simple Chayote, Garlic & Oregano Drink Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ fresh chayote, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, lightly crushed
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 3 cups water
Optional additions:
- Fresh lemon juice
- Fresh parsley
- Fresh mint
- Small slice of ginger
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the chayote thoroughly and chop it into small cubes.
Step 2
Lightly crush the garlic cloves to activate the natural sulfur compounds.
Step 3
Add the chopped chayote, garlic, oregano, and water to a saucepan.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Step 5
Reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 15–20 minutes.
Step 6
Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
Step 7
Strain into a cup.
Step 8
Serve warm.
