My Husband Threw Wine in My Face When I Refused to Pay His Mother’s $10,000 Dinner Bill—Then I Called 911 and Exposed Everything

Several diners offered to provide their contact information as witnesses.

One woman sitting at a nearby table approached me.

“I saw everything,” she said gently. “I’m sorry that happened to you.”

Her kindness nearly brought me to tears.

I thanked her and took a deep breath.

Then Mr. Bennett returned with the original bill and a printed itemized statement.

He placed both documents on the table.

“We’ve reviewed the charges,” he explained. “There are several discrepancies.”

He pointed to the first one.

The bill included two bottles of premium wine.

Only one had been opened.

It also included a seafood platter that nobody at our table had ordered.

There were additional charges for a tasting menu that Gertrude had requested but never received.

The restaurant had mistakenly added those items to our bill.

Mr. Bennett apologized for the error.

“I’ll have the incorrect charges removed immediately.”

I thanked him.

Spencer looked furious.
