I looked into her eyes.
“And when I first saw you that night, I felt that I wanted to get to know you. But I never could have imagined how strong you really are.”
She smiled.
At that moment, I realized that what I felt for her had become something far deeper than the attraction I’d experienced at first sight.
That night, Emily had begged me not to tell her father she was alive. And months later, she said something I will never forget: “Daniel, you didn’t just save me in the hospital. You helped me believe that even after everything that happened in the past, it’s possible to be happy again.”
Today, we’re still together. Emily is slowly rebuilding her relationship with her father and enjoying the chance to make up for the years she lost with her mother. And every day, I’m grateful for that night when the hospital doors opened and a girl entered my life.
