I Was 62 When I Finally Learned That I Mattered Too

Never confuse being loved with being needed.

The people who truly love you should never require you to forget yourself to prove your love for them.

You have the right to rest.

The right to change your mind.

The right to choose your own happiness, even when others have to learn to adjust.

And above all, you have the right to exist as more than everything you do for other people.

Because sometimes, the greatest act of courage isn’t continuing to carry everything.

It’s finally putting things down.

It’s looking the people you love in the eyes and gently telling them:

“I love you. But I matter, too.”

And you?

Have you ever felt that you had to do everything for everyone just to feel loved, until you forgot your own needs?

If this story touched your heart, share it with someone who needs a reminder that they matter, too.
