A Woman’s Husband Finally Agreed to Drive Their Daughter to Figure Skating Practice – But Then the Coach Called and Asked, ‘Why Hasn’t Your Daughter Been Showing up to Practice?’

He stared at Cecilia. She turned away.

That evening, Dawson invited his parents over, hoping they’d support him.

Elaine hugged Cecilia. “Are you excited about moving?”

“Moving?” I repeated.

“Karla always protects her from difficult choices. I wanted to give her options.”

His father, Richard, frowned. “Dawson said she’d been accepted.”

“She hasn’t even been invited to apply. And she doesn’t want to move.”

Elaine looked confused. “He told us Cecilia begged him to apply.”

“I didn’t,” Cecilia whispered.

“I do. Dad, I wanted you to come watch me skate. I didn’t say I wanted to leave Mom.”

Dawson folded his arms. “Karla always protects her from difficult choices. I wanted to give her options.”

“Then let her tell us what she wants,” I said.

He turned to Cecilia. “Tell them how good the coaches are.”

“They’re good,” she admitted. “But I don’t want to live there.”

“I thought this was your dream.”
