My husband’s brother stayed at our place for five days while we were in Michigan. I came home and didn’t recognize my own kitchen.
We’d been planning that trip since March.
Four nights on the lake, just the two of us, first time away since the wedding.
Two days before we left, Greg called. He was driving through Chicago that same week and wanted to see us.
“That’s terrible timing,” Dan said.
Then, “Stay at ours. Nobody’ll be there anyway.”
